The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
