۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
