Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
