Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
