The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
