Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 "The One Who created me, so He will guide me." 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 "And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations." 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
