Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
