Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 In which are high thrones. 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
