And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 Or shall We make those who believe and do righteous deeds as the workers of corruption in the earth, or shall We make the godfearing as the transgressors? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). 30 Recall what time there were presented unto him, at eventide, coursers swift-footed. 31 And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain. 32 (he ordered): “Bring these horses back to me,” and then he began to gently stroke their shanks and necks. 33 And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah). 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 And the shaitans, every builder and diver, 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning. 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
