And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 and who respond to [the call of] their Sustainer and are constant in prayer; and whose rule [in all matters of common concern] is consultation among themselves; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
