Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And no trifle. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
