Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
