The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
