Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its fruits are near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
