Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
