The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
