And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
