The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
