And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
Almighty God's Truth.
