Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
