Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
