Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
