The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
