The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
