The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and extended shade, 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
