The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
