The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
