The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who observe Zakah; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are the real gainers, 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
