Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
