Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
