۞ And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. 23 "And look after them with kindness and love, and say: "O Lord, have mercy on them as they nourished me when I was small." 24 Your Lord knows very well what is in your hearts. If you are good, He is forgiving to those who are penitent. 25 And give the kinsman his right, and the needy, and the traveller; and never squander; 26 spendthrifts are the brothers of Satan, and Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord -- 27 And even if thou hast to turn away from them in pursuit of the Mercy from thy Lord which thou dost expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness. 28 And do not keep your hand chained to your neck (when spending), nor open it completely, so that you will sit blamed and destitute. 29 Your Lord increases and determines the sustenance of whomever He wants. He is Well Aware and watches over His servants. 30
