Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
