And [yet,] they have a sign [of Our power to create and to resurrect] in the lifeless earth which We make alive, and out of which We bring forth grain, whereof they may eat; 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 Neither can the sun overtake the moon, nor the night outpace the day: Each of them keeps coursing in its orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
