3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
