S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 Of all these there was not one who did not deny the messengers. So My retribution was justified. 14
