Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
