Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
