Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 rain from the sky, 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
