NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until death approached us". 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
