NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
