The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
