The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
