Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 'Am Sin Qaf. 2 In this wise revealeth unto thee and unto those before thee, Allah the Mighty, the Wise. 3 All that is in the heavens and earth belongs to Him: He is the Exalted, the Almighty. 4 The heavens nearly break apart above them as the angels exalt with the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Indeed Allah is the Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 5 And (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, Allah watches over them, and you have not charge over them. 6 [Thou art but entrusted with Our message:] and so We have revealed unto thee a discourse in the Arabic tongue in order that thou mayest warn the foremost of all cities and all who dwell around it to wit, warn [them] of the Day of the Gathering, [the coming of] which is beyond all doubt: [the Day when] some shall find themselves in paradise, and some in the blazing flame. 7 And if Allah willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper. 8 Have they taken patrons besides Him! But Allah! He is the Patron, He quickeneth the dead, and He is over everything Potent. 9
