The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
