The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
