The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
