Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
