He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And he feareth 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man consider his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 Mother and father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyous 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
