Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
