In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
